Women raped at gunpoint in Islamabad

In a disturbing incident, a woman in Islamabad's Margalla Hills was reportedly raped at gunpoint, reflecting an alarming increase in cases of sexual violence against women and minors in the country.

According to the filed police complaint, the victim was deceived by a man named Noman, who enticed her with a job opportunity.

Subsequently, the authorities in the Islamabad capital have taken action by registering a case under Section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code at Kohsar police station. This step signifies the recognition of the gravity of the offense and initiates the legal process to address the incident.

The victim, originally from Muridke, was in search of employment when she received a text message from an individual approximately two months ago. The man allegedly deceived her by offering a job in the education department and demanded a payment of Rs50,000.

Subsequently, he instructed the victim to travel to Rawalpindi for a job interview and arranged a meeting with her at a bus stop in the city. Under the guise of introducing her to a senior officer responsible for conducting job interviews, the man accompanied the woman.

According to the filed First Information Report (FIR), the suspect took advantage of the situation and brought the woman to trail 3 in Margalla Hills. There, he allegedly raped her at gunpoint and issued threats, warning her against disclosing the incident to anyone, under the risk of her life being in danger.

The woman sought the assistance of law enforcement authorities to pursue legal action against the suspect, expressing her willingness to undergo a medical examination to support the legal proceedings.
